Alliance with Zionist Regime Is Open Rebellion Against Quranic Command

A senior scholar of the Qom Seminary, Hojatoleslam Mahdi Masjid Jamei, has condemned the normalization of relations between Islamic countries and the Zionist regime, calling it a direct violation of the explicit text of the Holy Quran and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the infallible Imams (AS).

In an interview with Hawzah News Agency in Sari, Masjid Jamei said the Zionist regime represents “the clearest example of a warring infidel,” stressing that any alliance or friendship with such a regime is a betrayal of divine principles.

He cited the Holy Quran, Surah Al-Ma’idah, verse 81, which states:

“And if they had believed in Allah and the Prophet and what was revealed to him, they would not have taken them as allies; but many of them are defiantly disobedient.” (Al-Ma’idah: 81)

Referring to another verse, Masjid Jamei quoted Surah Al-Ma’idah, verse 82:

“You will surely find the most intense in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those who associate others with Allah; and you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who say, ‘We are Christians.’ That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant.” (Al-Ma’idah: 82)

He noted that the Quran clearly identifies the Jews and polytheists as the staunchest enemies of the believers, while commending the humility of sincere Christians who are closer in affection to Muslims.

“The hostility of Jews and certain Christian powers toward Islam is not new,” he added. “It is a historical enmity that began during the lifetime of the Prophet (PBUH) and continues today in political, cultural, and military forms.”

Masjid Jamei emphasized that normalizing relations with the Zionist entity amounts to turning one’s back on the Quran and the Prophet (PBUH), warning that such actions only serve the enemies of Islam.

“It is deeply regrettable,” he said, “that some Arab rulers, ignoring ideological, humanitarian, and political principles, have chosen to normalize ties with a regime that has usurped Islamic lands and continues to commit atrocities against innocent people.”

He described the Zionist regime as a manifestation of aggression and oppression, noting that it has long deprived Palestinians of their rights to freedom, dignity, and self-determination.

“This usurping regime,” Masjid Jamei concluded, “is the true embodiment of the warlike infidels described in the Holy Quran — a regime standing openly against the Islamic world and humanity itself.”
